Urdal Services AS travelled to Havoysund wind mill park in Finnmark, Norway to install strain gauges in the foundation of a wind mill.
The strain gauges were mounted in accordance with client’s request – at different angles inside the foundation.
This was done to compare the calculated values for the foundation to the actual measured values. The results can provide additional information about how different wind loads affect the wind mill, and in doing so, assist in detemining the remaining life span of the wind mill.
