What personal information we collect and why we collect it
When visitors post comments on the page, the information stored in the comment form is stored in addition to the visitor’s web browser’s IP address. This is done to help avoid spam comments.
An anonymous text string generated on the basis of your email address (also called a “hash”) can be sent to Gravatar service to check if you have an account there. The Privacy Statement for Gravatar is located here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment has been approved, your profile picture will be visible to anyone, next to your comment.
If you post a comment on this site, you can choose for the comment form to remember the name, email and website. This information is stored in a cookie and is there to make things easier for you, as you won’t need to re-enter this information the next time you post a comment. These cookies expire after one year.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this page may include embedded content (such as videos, photos, articles, etc.) from other sites, such as Facebook. Embedded content from other sites behaves exactly the same as if the visitor had visited the site from where the embedded content originates.
As an important part of the effort to create a user-friendly website, we look at the user pattern of those who visit the site. To analyze the information, we use tools from Google Analytics.
Urdal Services stores information about what keywords users use on the site through Google Analytics. The purpose of the storage is to make it easier for our visitors to find what they are looking for. The search usage pattern is stored in aggregated form. Only the keyword is saved and they can not be linked to other information about the users, such as IP addresses.
How long we keep information about you
If you leave a comment, the comment and information about the comment will be saved indefinitely. This is because we can recognize follow-up comments and approve them automatically instead of posting them in a queue where they must be manually approved by an editor. Similarly, analysis data collected through Google Analytics will be retained indefinitely. This is because we will be able to compare visitor statistics over several years, so see if we are able to improve the visitor experience on the site for our customers.
Your rights regarding information we have about you
If you have left comments, you can request an export file containing the personal information we have about you. This includes all the data you have provided. You may also request that we delete all personal information we have about you. All inquiries regarding access to personal data can be directed to our technical administrator of the website, by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
